CLIENT OVERVIEW
Strike Films is a production company specializing in documentary and narrative filmmaking that captures emotional, impactful stories. They needed a bold brand identity that would resonate with both filmmakers and audiences while communicating their mission to create content that makes an impact.
THE CHALLENGE
Strike Films approached me needing a complete brand identity system that would:
Stand out in the competitive film production industry
Convey energy and emotional impact
Appeal to both creative collaborators and commercial clients
Translate effectively across digital and physical touchpoints
APPROACH & STRATEGY
I developed a brand strategy focused on the concept of "emotional impact" – the moment when a story resonates deeply with viewers. The visual language needed to capture this dynamic energy while maintaining professional credibility.
My process began with deep competitive analysis of the film production landscape, where I noticed most companies defaulted to minimalist black-and-white aesthetics or cinematic dark palettes. This revealed an opportunity for Strike to stand out through bold, energetic visual language while other competitors blended together.
Through stakeholder interviews, I uncovered Strike's unique perspective: they didn't just want to make beautiful films – they wanted to create stories that hit viewers viscerally, that lingered long after the credits rolled. This insight became the foundation of the brand strategy. I translated this "strike" moment – that emotional impact – into a visual system that would feel equally powerful.
The mood board phase explored tension between raw energy and refined professionalism. I tested everything from aggressive, punk-inspired aesthetics to sleek, tech-forward directions. The breakthrough came when I found a balance: high-voltage color combinations that demanded attention, anchored by sophisticated typography and geometric structure. This duality reflected Strike's dual audience – creative collaborators drawn to bold vision and commercial clients seeking reliable expertise.
Typography and color exploration became an exercise in controlled intensity. I needed fonts that communicated forward momentum without sacrificing legibility, and colors that felt electric without becoming garish. The final palette of cyan and yellow against carbon black creates what I call "controlled impact" – vibrant enough to stop the scroll, sophisticated enough to trust with your next project.

Geometric grid structure providing stability while allowing for creative applications
Typography
Primary: Zuume Edge – The aggressive italic slant and sharp, angular letterforms of Zuume Edge create an inherent sense of motion, as if the letters themselves are pushing forward through space. Its condensed proportions and bold weight give headlines an urgent, kinetic energy that mirrors the intensity of Strike's storytelling. The typeface refuses to sit still on the page, embodying the momentum of a story building toward its emotional climax.
Secondary: Bebas Neue Pro – In contrast, Bebas Neue Pro provides structural stability with its tall, narrow proportions and clean geometric construction. Its upright stance and uniform stroke width create breathing room and clarity for supporting content, ensuring the brand maintains professional polish alongside its energetic personality. The all-caps character set adds authority without aggression.
The pairing creates intentional tension: Zuume Edge drives forward with creative urgency while Bebas Neue Pro anchors the message with confident clarity. Together, they mirror Strike's dual nature – bold storytellers who deliver with precision and reliability.
Color System
Primary: Cyanide (#00F0E1) – This luminous cyan mimics the glow of a screen in a dark editing suite or the electric charge of a powerful story taking shape. Unlike softer teals common in creative industries, this cyan has an almost neon intensity that demands attention while carrying the emotional urgency that separates impactful storytelling from background noise.
Secondary: Voltage (#E6E619) – The yellow functions as a flash of insight or that visceral gut-punch moment when a story lands. Its high luminosity creates maximum contrast, ensuring key messages pop with unavoidable prominence. The slight green undertone keeps it sophisticated – an intense, charged accent that amplifies without overwhelming.
Foundation: Carbon Black (#111111) – Rather than pure black, this near-black provides depth with warmer undertones that prevent the brand from feeling cold. It's the darkness of a cinema before the film begins. This foundation allows the electric colors to sing while providing the professional gravitas commercial clients expect.
The triadic color relationship creates maximum visual tension, while black as the dominant neutral ensures sophistication. The result: instant brand recognition through a flash of cyan and yellow that signals Strike's presence before a single word is read.
